What Claude Motion Brings to Your Team
Existing reports, charts and product walkthroughs get a second life as compact animations you can play back, export and pass around — thanks to Claude Motion.
- Animation Built from Code, Not Stock FootageEvery clip is an artifact produced by the Motion template — living code that animates the text, charts, shapes and images it contains.
- Edit a Single Detail Without Redoing the RestBecause the output is code, updating one word, figure or beat never disturbs the remaining parts of your clip.
- Your Clips Land in the Artifacts TabNothing gets lost: each finished animation is filed automatically in Artifacts, right beside the rest of your Claude work.
Building an Animation with Claude Motion
Three quick steps take you from a rough idea to a finished clip in Claude Motion.
Inside Claude Motion: Key Capabilities
Template selection, chat-based edits and MP4 export — Claude Motion is built around the explainers, charts and walkthroughs that teams produce week after week.
Begin with the Motion Template
Head to Artifacts, select a Motion template, and spell out the animation you want to see.
Name Your Audience, Setting and Length
Telling Claude Motion who will watch, where the clip plays and roughly how long it should run helps it shape a tighter animation.
Bring Your Own Deck, Dataset or Screenshot
Upload the source material you already have — a report, a spreadsheet, a screen grab — and the animation is drawn from your real content.
A Natural Fit for Updates, Charts and Onboarding
Short pieces are where it shines: company-meeting recaps, revenue visuals for leadership, step-by-step onboarding clips.
Save the Result as an MP4
Once the clip looks right, the Export option lets you download it from Claude Motion as a standard MP4 file.
Private Until You Decide to Share
Fresh animations stay visible to you alone; you control when to share, and admins control whether sharing can leave the organization.
Claude Motion: Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Claude Motion — plans, admin controls, storage and exports.
Which plans include Claude Motion, and is it switched on by default?
The feature is in beta for Team and Enterprise. Team accounts get it turned on automatically; Enterprise keeps it off until an owner enables it.
How can an owner turn Claude Motion on or limit it?
Availability is controlled from the Artifacts section of Organization settings. Enterprise owners can go further and limit access to specific groups through custom roles.
Will Claude Motion produce lifelike footage or human video?
Not at all. Everything is animated as code — text, charts, shapes and images — so no realistic video or footage of people is created.
Once I make an animation, where does it live?
Each clip is stored in the Artifacts tab automatically, and that same tab is where you can kick off a fresh one from the Motion template.
What is the way to download or share a finished clip?
Pick Export, then MP4, to save the file. Until you open a clip and press Share, it stays visible only to you.
Do Claude Motion clips count against my plan's usage limits?
They do — the same plan limits apply as for your other Claude work, and a complex clip uses more than an ordinary message.
Create Your First Animated Clip with Claude Motion
Head to Artifacts, select the Motion template, then describe the explainer, chart or walkthrough you want. On Enterprise, an owner may need to switch the feature on first.
